Your Premier Climbing Destination in Colorado
Since 2002, The Spot Climbing Gym has pioneered inclusive climbing experiences that challenge both body and mind. Founded by Dan Howley, we opened as one of the first bouldering-focused gyms in the United States, establishing a legacy of innovation in climbing facilities, competitions, and community building. With five locations across Colorado, we have served over 230,000 climbers, offering expert instruction, state-of-the-art training spaces, and a welcoming environment for all skill levels. Our mission remains unchanged: to build strong bodies, healthy minds, and lifelong friendships through climbing. Over two decades, we have introduced groundbreaking features like the Psychedelia blacklight competition and specialized training areas such as The Dojo, while expanding to serve diverse communities in Boulder, Denver, Golden, Louisville, and Thornton.

Our commitment to accessibility is reflected in free intro classes, youth programs, and adaptive services like crash pad rentals. As industry leaders, we combine 20+ years of operational experience with certified instructors to deliver safe, engaging climbing experiences.
